In December at Seventeen we are presenting new work by ten of our favourite emerging artists.
Encompassing varied modes of production and motivated by wildly different themes, this collage of artworks has been brought together to act as a form of roadmap, marking out the gallerys position in the cultural geography of visual art. This show offers a snatched glimpse of the practise of each of these artists, which will be further expanded on over the coming months and years of programming at the space.
Each artist has provided one new work, in the most part unseen by the gallery. This act of faith is a reflection of the belief we have in each one of these practitioners and their talents. The exhibition program continues with a solo exhibition by Tony Heywood in January 2006.
